Technology plays a key role in India's sizeable agriculture sector through soil profiling, environmental monitoring, drone spraying, disease forecast and identification systems, AI/ML-driven yield prediction and autonomous tractors, among others. Data from these applications can improve analysis and insights but is hampered in situations that involve multi-vendor sub-systems and proprietary data payloads. This TSDSI publication recommends a common data payload to enable the integration of diverse agricultural devices and IoT systems using a oneM2M-based common service layer. This offers interoperability gains, efficient cloud-based data handling, and seamless secure communication between sensors, gateways, and platforms.
