Standards for M2M and the Internet of Things

oneM2M Welcomes GlobalPlatform and TSDSI as its Newest Partners

oneM2M, the global partnership for M2M and IoT standards, has welcomed the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI) and GlobalPlatform as its two newest Partners. oneM2M is now a partnership between eight leading standards development organizations: ARIB (Japan), ATIS (America), CCSA (China), ETSI (Europe), TIA (America), TSDSI (India), TTA (Korea), and TTC (Japan), whose members participate in developing oneM2M specifications, and six leading ICT industry associations: BBF (Broadband Forum), Continua, GlobalPlatform, HGI (Home Gateway Initiative), the New Generation M2M Consortium - Japan, and OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) who directly contribute to oneM2M.

Elections for leadership positions within oneM2M

Elections for leadership positions within oneM2M have been carried out and the following candidates have been appointed by acclamation:

Chair of the Management, Abstraction & Semantics Working group: Yongjing Zhang, Huawei / CCSA and two Vice Chairs: Tim Carey, Alcatel-Lucent / TIA & Sungjin Park, Samsung / TTA.

One Vice Chair of the Protocols Working Group: Peter Niblett, IBM / ETSI

Operators Announce Commercial Availability of oneM2M Platforms

Korean network operator, LG U+ and SK Telecom add support of oneM2M standards to their Machine to Machine and Internet of Things services

Sophia Antipolis, 11 December 2014 - oneM2M members LG U+ and SK Telecom of Korea have both announced that they will make the first commercial deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms based on oneM2M specifications.

Both platforms are being demonstrated at this week's oneM2M Showcase taking place in Sophia Antipolis, France.
